Dog It Dig It Rescue Inc. reserves the right to refuse adoption to anyone for any reason. Dog It Dig It Rescue’s goal is to find good homes for animals in their rescue and for the adoption to hopefully be a forever adoption. Sometimes the dog you are interested in just isn’t the correct fit for your particular family. We may suggest a different dog that would be a better fit for your particular circumstances.
The adoption fee is a donation to Dog It Dig It Rescue that goes toward the care of the animals in their rescue.
Your new pet must be checked by a licensed veterinarian within 7 days of adoption for a routine checkup. Dig It Dig It Rescue does their very best to adopt out only healthy animals. We will provide information about any testing and the results that we have along with vaccination and worming provided. All of the information for your vet will be on your contract that you will receive and sign at the time of adoption. If your vet finds evidence of disease in your pet within 7 days after signing the adoption contract and you do not wish to keep your pet, you may return the adopted pet for a refund of adoption donation amount only. If the animal is under 3 ½ months you should not take your pup to public places until the series of puppy vaccinations are completed. Refunds will come in the form of a check within 14 days. You must provide a copy of veterinary findings. Pets must be returned by the 7th calendar day from the date of adoption for refunds relating to disease. If the pup is deceased due to disease (veterinary proof from your vet), it must be returned within 8 hours of death. Refunds do not apply to abuse, neglect, poisoning, injury that the pet incurs after leaving Dog It Dig It Rescue. You may return the animal at any time but there are no refunds if you develop allergies or you decide that is was not a correct decision to adopt or the pet does not work out. Pet must come back to rescue ONLY and not given away, abandoned, sent to another rescue/shelter, or sold. Also routine vaccinations, worming, and testing are not a reason for a refund. These are a normal part of pet ownership. Your pet should receive Heartworm preventative and Flea preventative monthly – discuss the best treatment for your pet with your veterinarian.
Dogs are spayed/neutered prior to leaving Dog It Dig It Rescue Inc. and going to their new home. If the dog is not altered due advanced age or health does not permit you will be required to keep him touch at least every 6 months on the condition of the animal to see if surgery can be performed. If the dog is not altered due to being too young or too small, a deposit above the adoption fee of $100 for females and $75 for males must be paid and the animal must be spayed/neutered by the age of 6 months. RARELY would we let any animal leave prior to spaying/neutering.
Cash or Credit Cards through paypal are accepted forms of payment. You will received a signed contract stating the donation amount on the contract we you and a Dog It Dig It Representative will sign. Checks are accepted, but the new pet cannot go to the adopter’s home until the check has cleared (usually 7-10 days).
PLEASE RETURN THE ANIMAL TO RESCUE IF YOU CANNOT KEEP IT FOR ANY REASON – WHETHER A DAY OR 10 YEARS AFTER THE ADOPTION. We welcome all returns.
